West and Holiday Fires (San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties) – DBO Proclamation

Extraordinary Situation Proclaimed in San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties

On July 6 and July 7, 2018, Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. proclaimed a state of emergency in San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties due to the effects of the West and Holiday fires fire which have damaged structures and infrastructure and threatened homes. Consequently, Commissioner of Business Oversight Jan Lynn Owen has determined that an extraordinary situation exists in San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties and has issued a proclamation authorizing state-chartered banks to close any or all of their offices in affected areas until the Commissioner determines the extraordinary condition has ended.
