Napa, Sonoma & Yuba Counties Emergency Bank Closures – DBO Proclamation

Extraordinary Situation Proclaimed in Napa, Sonoma & Yuba Counties

On October 9, 2017 Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. proclaimed a state of emergency in Napa, Yuba and Sonoma counties due to the effects of the Tubbs and Atlas fires which have destroyed structures and continue to threaten thousands of homes, necessitating the evacuation of thousands of residents. Consequently, Commissioner of Business Oversight Jan Lynn Owen has determined that an extraordinary situation exists in Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties and has issued a proclamation authorizing state-chartered banks to close any or all of their offices in affected areas until the Commissioner determines the extraordinary condition has ended.
